About

Fen Ikner is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist and producer/engineer who has performed with and/or recorded countless acts over the years. He came to recording in the early 2000s initially as a means to immortalize the work of his Buffalo, NY band Knife Crazy. His creative approach and musical ear landed him in the producer’s chair for many seminal (and even more not-so-seminal) Buffalo bands.

In 2007, he wised up and struck out for Tucson, AZ where he quickly become a go to musician and engineer in the vibrant local scene, playing and recording with Calexico, Seashell Radio, Saint Maybe, The Modeens, and pretty much everyone else. He also found time to learn the black art of ribbon mic repair/design at the knee of venerated mic tech Stephen Sank, which he applied as an integral member of the fledgling Cloud Microphones.

In the summer of 2012, he joined the army of producer/engineer/musicians that comprise Brooklyn, NY. We’ll see how that works out.
